$8.2 Million for Affordable Housing, Open Space and Historic Preservation Projects

The Somerville Board of Aldermen has authorized $8.2 million in Community Preservation Act funding. This money will pay for open-space and historic preservation projects at Dilboy Field, Blessing of the Bay Park, the Somerville Community Growing Center, the Elizabeth Peabody House, Prospect Hill Park and other locations.

It also includes $6 million toward the 100 Homes project run by the Somerville Community Corporation. This program purchases multifamily homes throughout Somerville and makes them affordable in perpetuity.

Applications for fiscal-year 2019 CPA funding are now available, and application workshops will take place on June 13 and 21. Contact the CPA office for more information.
