How about all the police officers that he railroaded off the Job? All the while he leaves his relative on the police department after getting caught red handed involved with OxyContin. He was ordered to take a drug test, he refused ( a termination offense), and then was “AWOL” WITH pay for over 18 months! Meanwhile, he fires an officer that was part of his groomsmen at his wedding because he took a handful of Halloween candy from the Communication Office, and under duress, denied taking it! So, good ol’ Joe, fired his old friend.

I understand that a couple of the officers fired and current have been taking singing lessons. I believe that their first recital will be at “FBI-Boston.” Stay tuned. I think they will be a hit group!

I hope to God someone runs against joe and wins. I have been out of Somerville for 3 yrs can’t afford yo live there on my only paycheck. I want the old Somerville back. Too many condos high rises and what happened to all the nice neighborhoods they are all going condo. Joe is for himself I don’t trust him. He tells you what you want to hear and does the opposite. I would love yo be able yo go back to where I was born and raised and raised my kids but it’s not affordable and who the hell wants yo live in a sanctuary city. After your article came out another FBI Probe and Curtatone, he was seen the very next day very early in the morning loading two very large white suit cases into his vehicle. Must be hiding documents and incriminating evidence before the feds raid his house?

This mayor Curtatone is a nasty person. He claims not to treat people like dirt, but he does indeed treat people like dirt.
A retired Somerville Police Captain was critical of Curtatone on the internet because of the high turnover of Police Chiefs in Somerville after Curtatone removed the Chief of Police position from Civil Service(even though he was for Civil Service when he was an Alderman). Taking the Chief out of Civil Service gives the Mayor control of the Department.
Doesn’t treat people like dirt? He also mistreated a retired Fire Department employee who reported serious wrong doing that he endured. This happened before this firefighter retired. His own Union abandoned him. I could go on and on.
Curtatone is a power-hungry political hack. This is not the Somerville I grew up in, that’s for sure.
And why did Curtatone support those protesters who shut down the roads in protest? Why did he ask the Court to dismiss the charges? Because it’s good politics and gets him votes.

I’m not shocked to be honest. I too grew up with Joe although not even close to how you did. My family sold their house in 2013 and got the hell out. So much has declined in Somerville during his terms as Mayor. Locals or “Folks from the Ville” are leaving in droves, taking the money because yes it is a great realty market for our once blue collar 2 family houses. Local’s can’t even get permits for baseball teams at Trum Field without paying through the nose. It’s just what it once was. People’s Republic of Smoerville. Don’t even get me going on the whole “Black Lives Matter” sign at City Hall insteading of supporting our boys in blue who many are my close friends and actually grew up playing sports with this mayor as well. I’m an outsider now and I’m glad I am. I loved my city my whole life but it is a far cry from what is used to be.

I haven’t seen one post from any of the mayor’s loyal following vehemently defending him as they did from the last article. There was one nasty troll that continually badgered me for at least an hour before I was forced to block him. What an obnoxious toad. They must all be in deep briefing or buried in crying towels.
