There are many important upcoming meetings which I’d like to highlight in this email. Note “community meetings” (don’t appear on the city website), so I try to include those I believe are of interest to constituents based on their input. You’ll find many in this email, however not all.

2- Planning Board written commentary open until April 20th – opportunity to lend share your views about Affordable Housing – should Developer Federal Realty Group be granted a waiver to built 20% affordable housing units, and instead build 12.5% on their next housing project of 500 units. Send your emails to Planning@SomervilleMA.gov

Note one of the discussion topics is regarding Tufts University work in Medford to convert wood frame house which operate as offices to undergraduate residential housing.

4- Open Space, Environment & Energy Committee Meeting – discussion, agenda to be posted

5- Infrastructure work Powderhouse Blvd this summer in to fall – meeting to be informed re: relining sewer main, potential streetscapes, bike lanes, cross walk at West Somerville Neighborhood School, street repaving etc… – This meeting will be lead by the Director of Traffic & Infrastructure, City Engineer to discuss upcoming work and plans for Powderhouse Blvd.

6- Powderhouse Redevelopment abatement, demolition and construction update.
The developer MarKa has chosen Essex Builders to manage and construct the project. Project Superintendent is Stephen Rostanzo. His email is SRostanzo@essexbuilderscorp.com, cell is 781-603-5856. If you have any questions or concerns you may contact him directly.
