Playworks New England Junior Coach Leadership Convention Draws 150 Youth Including Somerville Elementary School Students Learn to Become Leaders

 

BOSTON, Mass. – On Feb. 22 and 23, Playworks New England welcomed 150 fourth and fifth grade students, representing 29 Boston Public Schools and five schools in Somerville, during the nonprofit’s eighth annual Junior Coach Leadership Convention at Northeastern University. SENATE REJECTS BILL TO SHOW PROOF OF RESIDENCY TO REGISTER CAR

   Senate 13-25, rejected an amendment that would require applicants to provide specific proof of legal residence in order to register their cars. Beacon Hill Voted but Rejected Bill (H 57) to:LOWER TUITION RATES FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

Senate 12-25, rejected an amendment that would prohibit illegal immigrant students from paying the preferred, lower in-state tuition rates and fees at Massachusetts universities. The amendment would supersede a policy, implemented several years ago by former Gov. Deval Patrick, allowing some students who are not in the country legally to pay the lower tuition rates.
