SOMERVILLE POLICE BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY AWARD
is presented for outstanding dedication and effort for the month of May 2015 to Sgt. Michael Kiely.
On October 23, 2015, Michael Kiely was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Since his promotion, Sergeant Kiely has been a valuable member of the Somerville Police Department. Sergeant Kiely has worked as the Homeland Security Supervisor and has demonstrated a willingness to work with others. He has helped the Somerville Police Department procure a $250,000 grant from UASI to develop a SWAT Unit, $35,000 for additional cameras, a new computer server for the cameras, nine new cameras, a Fat Pot computer and switched the Somerville Police Department to Cyber Com. Sergeant Kiely continues to go above and beyond what is asked of him.
