Hey Neighbors,

I wanted to keep you posted on a few meetings coming up that are important to Somerville and Ward 2.

Union Square Traffic and Infrastructure Presentation
April 13, at 6:30 p.m. – Argenziano School
Parsons Brinckerhoff, the consulting firm working for Union Square Traffic and Infrastructure will present their findings at this community meeting. This is an important meeting because the recommendations of this group will likely determine the future of Union Square’s infrastructure. The traffic pattern changes will ripple through every surrounding neighborhood so it’s very important that you guys attend and ask questions.

Land Use Committee Meeting
April 15, at 6:00 p.m. – Aldermanic Chambers at City Hall
The Land Use Committee is meeting to discuss the proposed citywide zoning overhaul. This is not a public hearing but interested residents will find the discussion and the approach the Aldermen are taking very informative.

Lincoln Park Redesign Meeting
April 27, at 6:30 p.m. – Argenziano School
Coming off the momentum of the first Lincoln Park DESIGN Community Meeting we are on our way towards a final design. This meeting will look at more options and will give us an update on the design phase. It is important for everyone that lives near or uses Lincoln Park to weigh in.

Sustainable Neighborhoods
April 28, at 6:30 pm – Visiting Nursing Association at 259 Lowell ST
I am on the Sustainable Neighborhoods task force, we are not only looking at ways to keep housing affordable in Somerville, but also increase affordable housing and establish and expand resources for those who need it. Even though the members of the task force are set the public is more than welcome to attend.

Be sure to get engaged on my website and follow me on Twitter for up to date news on all the issues and events in Ward 2.

Until soon,
Maryann Heuston
