It’s the latest piece of equipment that was recently purchased by the City of Somerville’s Department of Public Works.
Its an oversized snowblower attachment that is mounted on the front of a front end loader belonging to the City of Somerville.
This enormous piece of equipment is the latest in state-of-the-art equipment in the snow removal industry.
The estimated cost of one of these attachments is roughly around $250,000.
The City of Somerville told us that they paid $125,000 for this unit. They also said that it would fill a tri axle or ten-wheel dump truck in 15-20 seconds in most cases.
This particular attachment is designed to move snow quicker and more efficiently to clear the city streets and parking lots in half the time.
