On Wednesday over two dozen people organized a snowball fight, dance party and sculpture event and assembled in Union Square next to the Independent Restaurant in Somerville to protest for peace and celebrate post storm beauty.
This was an organized event organized by the Artisan’s Asylum Inc of Somerville.
Due to the fact of their presence in that particular location, snow removal crews were unable to clear the sidewalks of almost two feet of snow from Tuesday storm.
After interviewing a few frustrated citizens walking by, some elderly and some with small children who where slipping and sliding and stepping in the knee-deep snow to get to where they were going were furious while event participants managed to occupy that entire area while waving a peace flag (photographed below).
