Smith-Lartey arrest age 22

On the above time and date I was assigned to marked unit East 3. While on a high visual directed patrol at the intersection of Highland Ave and
Central Street, Which is a public way in the city of Somerville, I observed Rakim Smith-Lartey operating a black Nissan Altima Traveling east bound on Highland Ave. I then queried Rakim Smith Lartey information by using the MDT located in my cruiser. Rakim Status came back with a Suspended MA drivers license and a active warrant for his arrest, which Somerville Control confirmed.

I then activated my emergency light and sirens to stop the MV at 54 Highland Ave, I then approached Rakim, and explained the reason for the stop. Rakim was then asked to step out of the vehicle where he was placed under arrest without incident. While doing a inventory search, East 2 (officer Ramirez), who arrived on scene as back up, located a black folding knife, which is in violation of a city ordinance in Rakim jacket pocket. Rakim was then issued citation # R5390069, and his vehicle was towed via Pats Tow. Rakim was then transported to Somerville Police Headquarters.
