As work continues at the Medford Street Rail Bridge for the Green Line Extension project (GLX), Phase 1 work will require the complete closure of Medford Street, between South Street and Somerville Avenue, on Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14. Vehicle detours are as follows:

· Northbound traffic will be detoured left onto South Street, to Windsor Place, right onto Webster Avenue, right onto Prospect Avenue, and right onto Somerville Avenue.
· Southbound traffic will be detoured left onto McGrath Highway, right onto Cambridge Street (at the intersection at Lechmere Station).

In order to ensure pedestrian safety during this work, sidewalk access will be restricted. A pedestrian access plan is available on the Phase 1 construction page of the GLX website.

Additional weekend closures of this section of Medford Street are expected, including:

· October 4 & 5
· October 25 & 26

Local Medford Street businesses will remain open during these closures.
