On July 7th 2014, I, Officer Christopher Collette was assigned to Somerville marked unit East Two. While in the rear lot of Somerville Police Headquarters at approximately 2345 hours, I heard a commotion which sounded like a group arguing, and it was coming from the other side of Somerville Ave. Officer Nevin rushed over towards the commotion and I heard him verbally commanding those involved to stop. The commotion grew louder and as I emerged from the rear lot of headquarters I observed Officer Nevin with two females who appeared shaken and agitated. These two were later identified as Female victim and Danielle Fiore (DOB 04/20/1991). I am familiar with these two parties as I have dealt with them in past.
Officer Nevin informed me and the females that he had witnessed Ms. Fiore strike the victim with both hands, and observed that Ms. Fiore held a plastic water bottle in her hand at the time of the assault and struck Victim at least once with this implement. Victim 1 stated that she was fine and that she and Ms. Fiore were just arguing. Ms. Fiore refused to provide me the details of the argument. During the investigation I observed a scratch mark on the victims right shoulder that was bleeding slightly, and there were three red marks consistent with finger placement that were clearly visible.
Ms. Fiore was placed under arrest for committing an assault and battery on Victim, This crime was committed in presence of Officer Nevin. Ms. Fiore was transported to Somerville Police Headquarters and booked in the usual manner by Lt. Rooney. The Photograph of victims injury will be made available upon request.
